A family Carer is someone who, without payment, provides help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who could not manage otherwise without their carer's support. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.

Action for Family Carers is an Essex Chairty which provides informaqtion and support for Carers who have unpaid caring responsibilities for others. Their aim is to make a positibe difference to the lives of Carers including Young Carers.

They offer a free and confidential service to help support unpaid Carers.
